100th post: PHOTOmarathon
With great pleasure let me introduce you to the 100th post in my blog :) I have started it almost a year ago, that means on average I've been updating you about my life every 3 days :)This time I wanna share something that came up to me quite accidentally. It's related to arts - one of my greatest passions, and I did not get to write a lot about it, so now it's a good opportunity! I've been in the mailing list of a Lithuanian organisation MENE, which was founded by some great people that I got to know in my University's Photography club.
I was accidentally inscribed into one of their events, called FOTOmaratonas (PHOTOmarathon), which took place in Vilnius (so I couldn't be there, obviously) last Saturday. The concept was going to an assigned point in Vilnius, receiving a topic and taking a picture on it. Every participant had only one shot per topic, so you cannot just shoot 10 pics and pick the right one (and it's quite impossible, as you can use only non-digital cameras). Now the pictures are online, ready for judgement of the public. You can check the out here.
The website is all in Lithuanian, but the visual matters the most. You can find some very nice shots there. Just for the better reference, I will translate the topics for you:
'Autoportretas' - 'autoportrait'
'keistas' - 'strange'
'sveciuose' - 'coming for a visit'
'profesija' - 'profession'
'svajone' - 'dream'
'siuzetas' - 'sequence'
'koncepcija' - concept
'Neformato kategorija' - NON-format category
Enjoy!
